We loved Chorlton Big Green Happening. A wonderful day of eco-related fun in the sun. We were delighted to be invited to perform for this special occasion. Even more delightful was the forming of a brand new partnership. After the sound issues we experienced at UMBUG1000, The Spokes were very excited to team up with PoWWow Pedal Power. No need to rely on batteries, our set was powered by the legs of three fantastic women on bikes; Naomi, Sarah and Michelle.
We gave our main routine its second outing (first time to sound) and also wrote a special environmental themed piece especially for Green Happening and our upcoming show at Envirolution. The crowd were warmed up by our beautiful chearleaders who are becoming an institution in their own right. The double cartwheel being a real highlight.
Huge thanks to everyone who came down and cheered us on. We met a lot of new people who seemed to be really enjoying themselves. Our favourite review of the day goes to:
“your performance really SPOKE to me”
We haven’t found many photos of the show itself, so here’s some behind the scenes action.
